Privacy Policy
Effective date: July 8, 2026
Cozy Check-ins is a daily wellness check-in service operated from Virginia, USA. Contact: support@cozycheckins.com.
Mobile information & SMS
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Mobile phone numbers and SMS opt-in/consent data are never sold and are not shared with any third parties or affiliates for their own marketing or promotional purposes. We use service providers (Supabase, Twilio, Stripe, Sentry) only to operate the service.
What we collect
For the senior: first name, mobile number, time zone, check-in time, and daily check-in status/history. For family/trusted contacts: name, mobile number, role. We also keep timestamped consent records (including device and approximate network info), plus language and jurisdiction. We also store an optional profile photo for people in Your Circle — the senior, family, and trusted contacts — when one is added. Photos are optional, never required to use the service, and never used for facial recognition or advertising.
We do not collect location, do not sell data, and do not use it for advertising.
How we use it
To send the daily reminder you opted into, notify Your Circle of a missed check-in, send an all-clear, and keep a consent/activity record.
SMS Messaging
We send recurring transactional SMS only to recipients who personally opt in on their own handset. Message frequency varies (typically about one check-in per day, plus alerts if a check-in is missed). Message and data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help or STOP to unsubscribe at any time. Mobile phone numbers and SMS opt-in/consent data are never sold and are never shared with third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes.
Who sees it
Only the people in Your Circle you designated. Our processors are Supabase, Twilio, Stripe, and Sentry. Data is stored encrypted in the United States. If your check-ins are sponsored by an organization (such as a senior center), that organization's authorized staff can see the basic profile information needed to run check-ins for the members it sponsors — first name, mobile number, check-in status, and an optional profile photo. Organizations never see an individual's optional wellbeing answers (only combined, de-identified statistics, and none for groups smaller than five), and they cannot see members of other families or other organizations.
Optional wellbeing questions (Connection Check-In)
When this feature is available, about once a month after a completed check-in we may offer the senior three short, completely optional questions about how connected they feel (for example, how often they feel they lack companionship). Every question can be skipped, and skipping never affects check-ins or alerts. If answered, we store the answers and a simple total, linked to the senior's profile, so the people in Your Circle can see how their loved one is feeling over time.
These answers are wellbeing information, and we treat them with extra care: they are never sold, never used for advertising, and never shared outside Your Circle. Organizations that sponsor check-ins only ever see combined, de-identified statistics — never an individual senior's answers, and no statistics at all for groups smaller than five. These questions are not medical advice, a diagnosis, or a screening service, and no alert or action is ever triggered by an answer. The personal data we process includes name, mobile number, time zone, daily check-in time and status, an optional profile photo, and consent records. When an organization sponsors the check-ins, its authorized staff can see that basic information for the members it sponsors. Your data is transferred to and stored in the US with your consent. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy at any time, at our sole discretion. Changes take effect when the updated policy is posted on this page, with a revised effective date, and posting here is the notice of those changes — we are not required to give advance notice. If a change meaningfully affects how we handle sensitive information or your SMS consent, we will take reasonable steps to bring it to your attention. Your continued use of Cozy Check-ins after a change means you accept the updated policy; if you don't agree, you can stop using the service and delete your data using the rights described above.
For adults only — not for anyone under 18. Reply STOP to opt out of texts. See SMS Terms.
