Get the app
Cozy Check-ins runs in the web browser that is already on the phone. Adding it to the home screen gives it an icon like any other app and lets notifications through. Here is how, for each person in the Circle.
App Store and Google Play
Coming soon. Until then, the home-screen version is the same app, with nothing missing.
For your parent
Their check-in button
One big button, once a day. Your parent taps it and everyone in their Circle sees the check-in.
The icon is optional. On paid plans the check-in comes as a daily text with one button, and a parent without a smartphone can check in by phone call instead (US numbers).
How to get it
On your parent's phone, open their check-in page: it's the link in the text Cozy sent them. Then:
iPhone — Safari
- Tap the Share button at the bottom of Safari (the square with an arrow pointing up).
- Scroll down and tap "Add to Home Screen."
- Tap "Add" in the top corner. The Cozy Check-ins icon is now on the home screen.
Android — Chrome
- Tap the ⋮ menu at the top right of Chrome.
- Tap "Add to Home Screen." On some phones it says "Install app."
- Tap "Add." The Cozy Check-ins icon is now on the home screen.
Notifications
If the daily check-in arrives as a notification, allow notifications from Cozy Check-ins when the phone asks. On an iPhone that question only appears after the icon is on the Home Screen and Cozy is opened from there (iOS 16.4 or later).
For family
The family app
See the check-in the moment it happens, and hear right away when one is missed.
How to get it
On your phone, sign in at cozycheckins.com/login. Then:
iPhone — Safari
- Tap the Share button at the bottom of Safari (the square with an arrow pointing up).
- Scroll down and tap "Add to Home Screen."
- Tap "Add" in the top corner. The Cozy Check-ins icon is now on the home screen.
Android — Chrome
- Tap the ⋮ menu at the top right of Chrome.
- Tap "Add to Home Screen." On some phones it says "Install app."
- Tap "Add." The Cozy Check-ins icon is now on the home screen.
Notifications
Missed-check-in alerts come through this app, so allow notifications when asked; without them you won't hear when a check-in is missed. On an iPhone, add the icon first, open Cozy from it, then turn on alerts in Settings.
For friends and neighbors
The trusted-neighbor app
A trusted friend or neighbor nearby gets the same alert when a check-in is missed, so someone close can stop by.
What a trusted neighbor sees: whether today's check-in happened; your parent's phone number and address, so they can call or stop by; and two buttons, "On my way" and "I'm here," that tell the family what they did. They see the family's own numbers only if the family owner chooses to share them.
How to get it
The family owner sends them an invite link. On their phone, they open that link, sign in, and then:
iPhone — Safari
- Tap the Share button at the bottom of Safari (the square with an arrow pointing up).
- Scroll down and tap "Add to Home Screen."
- Tap "Add" in the top corner. The Cozy Check-ins icon is now on the home screen.
Android — Chrome
- Tap the ⋮ menu at the top right of Chrome.
- Tap "Add to Home Screen." On some phones it says "Install app."
- Tap "Add." The Cozy Check-ins icon is now on the home screen.
Notifications
Same as family: alerts come through the app, so allow notifications when asked.
